    Great Book

I wasn't so interested in beginning this one but when I did I totally loved it. I really love the characters. I loved that Balogh did not leave out there story because it is worth reading. I enjoyed reading the ending the most because I felt that it was so different from the typical endings. It was hilarious in the end. This book was also really emotionally moving. It keeps you wondering what will be their end. This was a really good book. Interesting and fresh.

Mary Balogh is one of my favorite authors, so I expected to like

Mary Balogh is one of my favorite authors, so I expected to like this. I didn't expect to like it so much that I cried with happiness at the ending. Gerald and Prissy are quiet, imperfect people, not the typical main characters in a romance novel. It was so incredibly sweet to see them both find love when neither of them ever thought they'd get it or were worthy of it. Before I read it I kind of wondered if maybe this story didn't need to be told, since I've read the book where Gerald is the hero's best friend, but I'm so very glad we have this story. Loved this book, so much, and now I want to go read The Ideal Wife again! It could not have been easy to pull off a courtesan main character, but it works beautifully. I especially like how Prissy has a rich inner life and separate self that she maintains; it reminded me of More Than a Mistress in that way.
