Presumed Guilty is the 7th novel by best-selling American author

Presumed Guilty is the 7th novel by best-selling American author, Tess Gerritsen. When Miranda Wood’s boss and ex-lover, newspaper publisher Richard Tremain, is murdered in her bed with her own kitchen knife, she has no alibi and is, of course, presumed guilty. But when Richard’s brother returns to Shepherd’s Island at his sister-in-law Evelyn’s request, Chase Tremain observes in Miranda a woman who doesn’t seem guilty. There are inconsistencies in the case; and, once he talks more to Miranda, he realises there are quite a few other possible suspects. When the impossibly high bail is mysteriously posted, Miranda is free, but is she safe? After several attempts on Miranda’s life, Chase is convinced there is more to Richard’s murder than meets the eye. He can also see why his brother was attracted to this unassuming woman. Gerritsen is mistress of the romance/intrigue genre: this one has an original plot with plenty of twists, false leads and red herrings, as well as characters with depth and spirit. Gerritsen keeps the reader guessing until the last chapter. This is an excellent dose of early Gerritsen.

    One of Gerritsen's first novels

I was pleasantly surprised with this, one of of Tess Gerritsen's novels. It actually is in the "Romance" genre. It is good for a light, feel good read. I recommend it just because I like her crime novels so much that this was a fun way to learn more of Tess' humble beginnings.

    Disappointed

I have read her other Harlequin books and couldn't put them down. While this one was good, I was expecting more.
