A must In Every Kitchen!
Whether you have been cooking for years, or are just getting started in the kitchen, this is a terrific reference book for anyone who wants to eat healthfully. After nearly 30 years in the kitchen, I decided to take a much needed turn toward a healthier diet. This book with it's focus on whole grains, healthy oils, fuits, vegetables, lean meats and legumes, opened a whole new world for me. I can now confidently select, store and prepare foods that up until recently I'd never dared place in my shopping cart. Quinoa, jicama, lentils and couscous, just to name a few. For the novice, The Healthy Cook offers numerous illustrations on everything from Artful Carving to Creative Crusts. Even the most basic cooking techniques are well illustrated and described. I'd give this book 5 stars even without the collection of 450 home-style recipes!! But truly they are the icing on the cake.
