    Cartoons and Teaching

There is nothing more delightful to the eye of a child than a cartoon and this book really captures learning and fun in one fell swoop. Professor Beetoven and friends cleverly combines all the familiar characteristics of animated characters (color, expression, simplicity and an emphasis on personality traits) with educational value.
Professor Beetoven is a happy, friendly, intelligent bee who mingles humility with factual knowledge. Able to make and keep friends quickly, the Professor finds the world of nature to be extremely intriguing, and captures that excitement for young readers. His tagline is that he "knows everything" but he is definitely not a "know-it-all".

Tad the Frog is a bit more like the rest of us. He has a keen interest in exploring the world, and a heart for adventure, and enjoys learning. Bandee, on the other hand, brings to the group some of the natural mischief and fun, as well as a penchant for putting things off. Parkee the parakeet sees his purpose as enlightening his friends about how to nurture and protect the natural world. Snoz the elephant, on the other hand, finds purpose in eating peanuts, and is extremely happy and content. Measels the dog represent the more impatient side of things as he struggles with being mad and fighting. Other characters like Catnap Cat and Barnacle Bill reinforce such qualities and add more entertaining personalities to the mix.

All the characters together encompass the macroscopic universe of the child's interior world. Children, like the Professor, are certain of what they do know and delight in sharing it, have strong interests in learning more like Tad, are mischievous and in the moment like Bandee, are easily satisfied and content like Snoz, and are in a constant process of learning about self-discipline like Measels. Altogether, Professor Beetoven and friends make for a cast with whom kids can identify and easily emulate.

    A Cute Little Story

The storyline is good, and the characters are so vivid they seem to come to life. Your kids will love it.
