Ghostwritten

Great book, but very ironic how this book about political integrity was never really written by JFK. It was most likely ghostwritten by his speechwriter, Ted Sorensen. Not to mention all the strings Joe Kennedy pulled to get his boy the Pulitzer...

I listened to this on audio cassette. As I began listening to it, I began to wonder if it would have even gotten published if the author had been John Doe. I did come away from listening to the book admiring President Kennedy's extensive vocabulary. Also, John Jr.'s reading of it seemed to lack spirit. With one exception, I though it was informative but not that interesting. The one part that was extremely interesting was the part about Edmund G. Ross. That section was breathtaking. It was Edmund G. Ross's vote who kept Andrew Johnson in office after Lincoln's assasination. If Senator Ross had voted differently, the politicians who wanted to treat the South as vanquished territories would have been in power. If that had happened, would the United States be what it is today?

A must read book for any poltician

this book is one of the greatest books ever written and to suggest Jfk didnt write this book is to say that you havent read the book. John Kennedy was a man who believed in giving credit where credit is due. there is very little doubt in my mind that Jfk truly wrote this book and deserved the pulitzer prize, even more considering during the time he was writing this book, he was recovering from life threating back surgery! he was a true profile in courage himself>

A book about Courage , A book about life

I have always been interested in the life of JFK and what drove him to become the man he was. After reading this book, I have a better understanding of why people of his generation felt so highly of him. A great book.

    If you like JFK...

I like JFK and he is a wonderful writer. But if you're not a good reader and you don't like politics and you have to read a book with a dictionary beside you. This is not a book you will enjoy. The message JFK gives is a good one. He says to be yourself. Don't worry about the popular groups and its petty things anyway. In so many words that is.

Of Great Men, By a Great Man

This book is a wonderful piece of writing by a great President. It was very insightful and it instills a sense of pride for the government that I thought I had lost. I recommend it to anyone even remotely interested in government, history, JFK, or courageous people.
