    Clear, Concise & Concrete

Janet Farrah & Gavin Bone have taken the fundamental building blocks of Witchcraft and laid them out in a conversational tone that is clear, concise and easy to digest. Historical information is presented and tied to current trends in an effort to bring our points of reference up to date ingus to move forward in our journey with a foundation. This is a must read for anyone newcomers and those wishing to remember roots alike. Why do we do what we do? How did traditions start? How do we incorporate old traditions in modern times and have them make sense? It's all here in Progressive Witchcraft.

    Excellent and Original, a 'Must-have'

While there are a few editorial mistakes throughout the book, as well as some facts and etymologies than could have been researched much more throughly, over-all this is a brilliant read. The Cosmology models for pathworking and Magic are original and extremely useful to anyone working in a Wiccan paradigm. This book will be on my recommended Craft Books list from now on along with other Farrar classics.

Fresh Perspective on Ancient Ways of Wicca

From the first moment I began reading PROGRESSIVE WITCHCRAFT, my attention was riveted by the revelation that finally, here is a book that shows the history of Wicca with all its many ever-evolving paths! Truly a scholarly work, PROGRESSIVE WITCHCRAFT includes relevant references at the end of each chapter where readers may further explore specific areas of interest. I was particularly impressed by the inclusion of both the chakra system and Jungian psychology -- along with explanations of how these different perspectives and shamanism have woven their way into various forms and practices of witchcraft. PROGRESSIVE WITCHCRAFT is the kind of book that I imagine will be required reading in many formal Wiccan training programs, because it provides an extraordinarily thorough overview of the history of the craft. Packed with useful tips, tools and exercises, it's also a first-rate introduction to witchcraft that is certain to become a beloved reference book for years to come.
