After reading the first two books in this series (the second was the best, in my opinion), I was very disappointed. The characters weren't developed enough, and the "secret" that Jade insisted on keeping was tedious and ridiculous. There were too many sex scenes with immature innuendoes. I got through most of the book before finally just skipping to the end. Very disappointing.

She finished her own banner lastly, checkered with three colors; scarlet paired with a gold roaring lion, deep gray with a coal-black Direwolf, and rich gold paired with a crowned black stag. She sighed, looking at all the banners for the kingdoms. Her hands trobbed and were also cramping.

This is the third book in the Scoundrel Series by Annette Blair, and like the first two, this one does not disappoint. This is the story of Marcus and Jade.

Marcus Fitzalan arrives at Jade Smithfield's estate with the purpose of pretending to be her new accountant, while trying to discover who is trying to destroy his brother railroad investment. A railroad that is being built through a protion of Jade's land.

But Jade hides a secret that she is afraid will be discovered and will destroy her family and the abused women and children that she protects and shelters in her home.

The chemistry between Marcus and Jade is instant and powerful. It is only a matter of time before they give into the passion that is building between them. But as Marcus investigate the problems that threaten to stop the railroad, will he find Jade in the middle of the mess, or is she a target too?

I loved this story! Marcus is so YUMMY and the way is around the little orphan Emma, Emmy-bug to him (he is Mucks) just melted my heart. His brother Garr and the dogs add so much fun and laughter that I cried I laughed so hard. I would recommend this series to all my friends.
