The Punisher kicks it old school in this 1930s portrayal. Lots of classic Punisher villains and a unique change of story from the original Punisher tale but with the same basis; Punishment. Excellent artwork and decent dialogue makes the Punisher of the 30s not lose a step compared to the Punisher we all know. Favorite Part: No Punisher Skull shirt; this time he dawns the Punisher skull mask. Very cool.

Back to the good stuff
I thoroughly enjoyed this comic. It's been a long time since I actually sat down to read one. So long in fact that I still call them comics. However, I should clarify, this is a graphic novel in every sense of the word. It gives you a different spin on the Punisher origin with some dark and gritty images. It's good. The Punisher is one of the few characters that I think fit well into any decade. No matter what the year, a bullet still kills. Classic Punisher baddies make a cameo in this along with some new friends. The ending...well let's just say you'll be clamoring for the next issue. If you enjoy the Punisher world & old school noir classics you're in for a treat. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
