Was going through my old stuff in my old hometown to decide what

Was going through my old stuff in my old hometown to decide what to leave in storage and what to bring to my new home. I found it in a tub with my old Berenstain Bear books.
Brings a tear to my eye every time I read it, partly because I want a puppy for myself, but I don't have the time or money right now to commit to one.

    Cute, Creative and Encouraging

This is such a creative little story! Having read it for several years to my children (we have the 1988 edition) I hope to someday be able to read it to their children and get them each their own family copy.

    Delightful!

I believe this is my favorite children's book. The story is sweet and the illustrations are wonderful. I have read this book over and over to my children and now will read it to my grandchildren. If you want only one child's book, this should be it.

    Great Children's Christmas Story

Children get the opportunity to see the viewpoint of a dog. The book explores the idea that dogs enjoy us, as much as we enjoy having them in our lives. I use it in my classroom and all the children make an ornament out of a dog biscuit after the book is finished.
