    Truly fine book

One of the best 'mystery' books I've read in a long time. Great story with lots of vivid detailed imagery. Not for the faint of heart but I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone looking to be entertained. The only downside was the fairly predictable conclusion but even that didn't take away for this book.

Best thriller I've read in years!

I read this book in manuscript form while working at the publisher's ad agency. Reading manuscripts is often a dreadful task as many novels are poorly written. PURSUIT was a wonderful exception! Whereas most modern thrillers are overwritten (ie: characters with very little bearing on the story get a full page or more of description or there are endless chapters that do nothing to advance the plot) Perry gives us a taut, electric tale of a hunter and his prey that grabs you by the throat from the first page and simply will not let go until the last. Although the styles are quite different, PURSUIT reminded me of the thrill I used to get from reading Ian Fleming's original James Bond novels. Thank you, Mr. Perry, and please bring back Roy Prescott soon!

Probably the best crime drama I've ever read.

Thomas Perry begins pursuit at Page One and it relentlessly escalates from there. I read a lot. This is by far the best I've read of the genre. My friends say they can't put it down and neither could I. this is a no-brainer. spnd the money. it's well worth it.

    Great Potential . . . but

The book was enjoyable for the most part. I especially found the middle ofthe book interesting when the protagonist (Roy) is tracking and setting up to find the antagonist (Varney). Throughout the story, I was able to buy into the character Varney and his actions. While I liked Roy, he was not really believeable. The story seemed to prefer to set up one on one macho displays of cat & mouse. Knowing all that Roy would have known based on his experience, he would never have toyed with his adversary. There was also one minor loose end that would have been intersting to finish up regarding the artist in New York; but instead, it was left hanging.
