Unsettling and thought provoking near future sci-fi
Starts slowly, as an average thriller about post-9/11 terrorism. Then the science appears and things get more interesting. It's all near-future extrapolation of existing technology. And much of it is familiar to any fan of recent futuristic films. However, the realistic portrayal of the remote possibility of unknown parties acquiring and/or manipulating bio-terrorism materials is quite unsettling and thought provoking. Not a great book. But it was ultimately satisfying and I will probably give the next one in the series a try.

Not a summer read
In my life, I have not finished two books. This makes three. Maybe just not my style with all the sci-fi stuff but I couldn't get past the first third of this book.
