    I Also Recommend:

    Mostly solid recipes, great for weeknights

    This is the first cookbook I turned to when I became a vegetarian, and it's still a household staple. There are a few recipes from this book that I make so often I rarely even look at the book anymore: chipotle black bean soup, beat-the-clock lasagna, peanut butter and tomato quesadillas, to name a few. Though it is entirely dairy and egg free as well, most of the recipes can be easily adapted for lacto-ovos. I find there is something for everyone in this book, and the quick, easy recipes make it great for weeknights.

    Excellent book for your collection

    This book has something for everyone, even the non-vegetarian. I am a self-proclaimed foodie and I love trying new vegan foods and recipes. This book is one that you will use over and over again.

    Simple, easy recipes

    The point of this cookbook is to make tasty and fast meals conveniently. The author includes many tips on how to make from scratch many items that she uses premade. I have made several meals out of this cookbook and liked them all. My favorite was the california club with 'fake' bacon. I liked it so much I made another after I ate the first one!

    great cookbook (for beginners or advanced cooks)

    I had bought "1000 Vegan Recipes" by Robin Robertson before and absolutely love it. This "Quick-Fix Vegetarian" is wonderful as well. Besides very helpful information it has easy to follow recipes. I was amazed how easy and fast I was able to cook dinner even after a long day at work.

    Great start toward less meat

    This is a great way to make veggies the main course. It has helped me make meat less important to my nutrition.

    Quick-Fix and Delicious

    This is my new favorite cookbook. The recipes are varied with several different cultures represented. All have easy to follow instructions and easy to obtain ingredients. I was pleased that there was no over-reliance on soy-based meat substitutes. These are vegetarian recipes calling for grains, vegetables and nuts. I would recommend the book to non-vegetarians as well as a good reference cookbook.

    Not what vegetarianism is all about

    One of the great things about being a vegetarian is coooking with fresh and seasonal produce. It's a shame that this cookbook relies on using frozen vegetables and gross canned gravy and other convenience products. I'm all for using convenience products very very sparingly, like prepared pasta sauce, but all her recipes call for them.
