Zach's Book Review

    Summary:
In the seventh Pendragon book, Bobby chases Saint Dane to Quillan where he is forced to play in games where to lose is to die. However, there is an ever more pressing issue. Where is Saint Dane? What does he have in store for the destruction of this territory? While these questions go through Bobby¿s mind he watches as another traveler dies and then soon meets the one from Quillan who explains that she leads three lives: one as the traveler, one as the special assistant for Blok and, most importantly, one as a reviver. She tells him that the revivers are a group of people who want to take Blok down and restore Quillan to the way things were before. They were fighting for freedom. Bobby then knew that this was how he would save Quillan. He would have to help the revivers and meet Mr. Pop (Mr. Pop is a huge library of Quillan¿s past). However, this would also mean he would have to fight in the Grand X. So as usual Bobby is left to do the most dangerous part by putting his life on the line for Halla. Bobby did compete in the Grand X but he barely won. However, even with him winning the Grand X all hope of preserving the past was lost when Mr. Pop was destroyed. The one behind it was the traveler from Quillan, Nevva Winter. One of the travelers had joined Saint Dane and Saint Dane had won another territory.

Literary Devices:

The author uses many similes and onomatopoeias to help the reader understand and visualize the scene that he is describing. For example, he compares the Blok¿s company meeting room to a courtroom and then later describes a sound as a Swoosh-crack sound. The author also used hyperboles to add humor to the story. An example of a hyperbole is when Bobby ¿knocked another spider into next week.¿

Best part of the Book:
The best part of the book was near the end when Bobby finally ¿meets¿ Mr. Pop. He had only heard of Mr. Pop while he was staying at Veego and LaBerge¿s castle. Needless to say he was excited when he found out that he was to meet him. This was an honor that very few people ever got to experience. Mr. Pop was rumored to be the one thing that would help save the territory. The only reason he was about to meet Mr. Pop was because of the traveler from Quillan. She had introduced him to the revivers, a group set on restoring imagination and spirit to the people. Anyway, when he saw Mr. Pop he realized that ¿he¿ was a place. Mr. Pop was just a code name so that people would think that the place was actually a person. It was a security feature. When Bobby looked upon Mr. Pop he saw that it was a huge library of Quillan¿s past. However, it not only had books but also sculptures, paintings, and even clothing. Mr. Pop was all the history of Quillan; it was the real Quillan that had been forced aside. Mr. Pop was the only thing that stood between Quillan and destruction. It was Mr. Pop that would guide the people of Quillan back to the way it was meant to be.

Worst Part of the Book:
The worst part of the book was when Bobby had to watch a traveler that he had never met die as he played against the Campion of the Quillan games. It was a sad part because, if Bobby were there, he could have tried to save him with his unique ability of healing. With this in mind, two travelers were dead and two stuck on another territory.

Recommendation:
I would definitely recommend this book because they are full of action and it¿s really neat to explore every new territory and picture it your mind. I Also Recommend:

    An Awesome Series!

From the first page of book one on, I was hooked! I love the characters and thier development throughout the story, and I love the creativity involved in each of the different worlds. I can't wait to see what happens next!

If you liked Pendragon, you might also enjoy the "Fablehaven" series by Brandon Mull, and the "Percy Jackson" series by Rick Riordan.

This one was a little slow at times, and a little difficult to get through. But the games are creative and fascinating to read about. There's also some interesting stuff going on with Mark back on Earth to heat things up. Another good installment

    Pretty Good

This is probably one of my least favorite book in the Pendragon series. It definitely has some action but it os also kind of confusing. I still love all of the Pendragon books though.

    Very Complex Book!!!!

As my title states, this book is like a puzzle as you read it. One of the things I like most is trying to find out how ST. Dane is going to trick Bobby. The plot line is great, except for a few times it strays off.

    Mixed emotions....

As always I enjoyed Pendragon, but Quillan Games really left a lot of things open and I didn't get the feeling that it came to a distinct end. This one is a nice filler to the series... but it's not the best Pendragon.
