Understanding Early 20th Century Women through Quilting

I enjoyed this book immensely AND placing myself into the historical times depicted. Jennifer Chiaverini has an incredible ability to capture the feeling of characters in different historical times. I reflected on my own family members (even though I don't have documentation) and their struggles in the years 1900 to 1920. As we get to know Eleanor through the stories, we can appreciate her strength and talent.

I appreciated the family tree in this book, as there are many characters and generations included.

Although I am not a quilter, I have become interest in the patterns and have looked up the key ones.

There are some clever, funny moments in the book that add to its charm. I'm eager to continue the series. It is an outstanding work in contrast to many of today's authors. These types of stories are charming.

I am not reading them in order as I started with The Lost Quilter, then The Runaway Quilt, but now getting to know the characters much better.

    A reviewer

This book in the series brought all the previous books together for me. All the characters history past and present. Eleanor was my favorite. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

    WOW!!!

This is the best of the books within the series that Ms. Chiaverini has written yet! I have witnessed growth and maturity in her writing style, but I have also grown to love each and every character in the books as they come to life with each chuckle and tear I shed. This book, as the others in the past, lead me to my sewing machine with a legacy of my own to create.
