    A great read

I highly recommend this book for anyone whose life has been touched by a quilt. The stories are wonderfully written and a pleasure to read. I look forward to many more books from this author.

A Feel Good Book For All Fiberholics!

I really liked the premise of this book. As a quilter since 1976 I've seen a lot of quilts and they all carry a story with them. I think it's great that someone finally thought about telling a few of the quilt histories. The stories in this book are presented thoughtfully, pertinent questions were asked about the quilts and the stories vary from winsome to serious. When you wrap a quilt around you you wrap yourself in the stitches of the maker - and quilts are always works of love.

The author does a spectacular job of story telling and brings wonderful historical tidbits to light. I'm wondering if there might have been a bit of too much editing because it felt like the author had more to say about some of the quilts that was left out. Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part! The cover of the book - I know I notice silly things - does not do the book justice. It's too dark and dreary looking, The stories that are included in the book are stories of bright hopes and history and the cover should be lighter - portraying that fabric history of hope and remembrance.

Well done! There are so many wonderful quilts that I hope there may be another book about their stories!
