    The Strange Kit: Chapter Two

Two tiny gloden prin picks glowed from the bushes. "W-what's that?" Rainbowpaw stammered. "Fox," Lightningbolt whispered. "Fly back and warn the camp that there's a fox on the territory." "Ok," Rainbowpaw said quickly, and flew off back to camp at a scared fast pace. She was back at camp in five seconds. "Fox!" She shouted, out of breath."Fox near the Training Hollow!" Flutterstar got quickly to work organizing the battle patrol. "Thorntooth, Twilightfur, Featherleaf, Reedheart, Softpaw, and Brackenpaw, you come with me. The rest of you stay here and guard the camp," she said. The warriors paws pounded on the forest floor as they sprinted to fight the fox. Rainbowpaw flew ahead, warning them of logs to jump over or streams to cross. She flew quickly, faster than any of her clan has seen a cat fly. When they had reached the Training Hollow, Flutterstar held them back. "When I give the command," she whispered, "We shall attack. Rainbowpaw, since you don't know how to fight, I'm putting you in charge of getting the wounded back to camp. Got it?" she asked. Rainbowpaw nodded and watched from above. Flutterstar gave the signal and the warriors lept at the fox. More foxes then came out of the bushes. Luckily, they were still outnumbered. Rainbowpaw heard the agonized screech of her mentor as a fox clawed her side. She saw Thorntooth being chased around the hollow by three foxes. All of a sudden, Softpaw and Reedheart lept out of the bushes and took on two of the foxes. Thorntooth whirled around and took on the third. Rainbowpaw saw Featherleaf chase a fox out of the clearing, its nose and flank dripping in blood. The battle was breaking up. Then, the remaining foxes lept out of the clearing. "Yeah you'd better run!" Brackenpaw sneered. "Who's hurt the worst?" Flutterstar said. "Everyone's just got minor wounds," Thorntooth replied. "But Softpaw's got a nasty wound on her wing that looks bad." "Everyone back to camp!" Flutterstar shouted, and everyone sped through the forest back to camp. When they returned, Softpaw was taken straight to Softfeather's den for treatment. This was her first battle on her first day out as an apprentice! She did some loops in mid air and flew back down to camp. Everyone was talking. "We should celebrate our victory some way," Rainbowpaw heard Stormfeather say. "But how?" Rainbowpaw instantly remembered something her mother had told her. *Hey I could do something.* Rainbowpaw said. "Show us what you got," Heatherpelt said. Rainbowpaw gathered up her haunches and lept onto her wings. She flew at a fast pace. She felt the wind blowing back her whiskers. She was going super fast. Faster than the fastest flyer. She felt lightning crackle around her then, BOOM!!!!! A giant circular rainbow erupts with a boom from where she was just seconds before. As she speeds back down to earth, making a rainbow in the air with the rainbow streaming out from behind her, she felt her paw start to tingle. When she landed, she inspected her paw. The clan was oooing and ahhing at the pretty rainbow. One of the warriors used their magic to make it sparkly. As Rainbowpaw examined her paw, she saw a strange mark on it. It was a cloud with a red, yellow, and blue rainbow coming out of it. What in the name of Starclan? she thought, and took a vole from the freshkill pile to eat. As Flutterstar explained their victory, Rainbowpaw thought about the strange mark. Where the heck did it come from, she thought, and how the heck did it get there?
