A must read for parents
Have you ever heard someone say, ¿Kids don¿t come with manuals¿? Now you can tell them different. Of all the child-rearing books in the world, Raising Disrespectful Children in a Disrespectful World has got to be in the top five. The main theme of this book is respect. The only pre-reading you should do is touch base with the Bible, check your faith. Not only does Jill Rigby show us how to raise our children to be what God designated them to be, she also helps parents understand that they are the role models and should focus on God for the answers. Rigby has written an incredible book for parents, it will change the way you think for the rest of your life.

We’ve come to expect candor in a caring manner from Jill Rigby and she doesn’t disappoint in her latest release Raising Respectful Children in a Disrespectful World. She addresses the three parenting types, parent-centered, child-centered and character-centered.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. It’s easy to look around and see examples of parent-centered and child-centered parenting styles. Both types make me cringe for different reasons. What is not seen as often is character-centered parenting. Jill provides example after example of why it is so important to focus more on our children’s characters rather than their (or our) comfort.
This book not only makes a great read for parents, but it would make an awesome study for your small group or moms group. The chapters are short enough to be manageable yet long enough to get to the heart of the matter. In the back of the book is a small group study guide that is broken down into seven sessions. One of the other things I really like is the Must Read Books for Parents in Appendix D.
If you are struggling with your kiddos or even if you are not and just need affirmation that you are on the right path, pick up a copy of Raising Respectful Children in a Disrespectful World. You and your children will benefit from it.
I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.
