shows what it was really like
As a 'Newfie' myself, I really respect Mrs. Morgan's point of view and authoritative writing style in this novel. It really shows what outport Newfoundland was like when it was being settled, and what so many Newefoundlanders are fighting to keep. If you haven't read this book, I strongly suggest that you do because it is a spectacular read even if you haven't even heard of Newfoundland.
