    What I was looking for...

Tried a raw diet once before without success as I was finding it very complicated and mathematical which is the opposite of what I am...but Carina's book made it all simple, practical and most important...COMMON SENSE. A very easy read and that is what I wanted......the very basics and to the point. Once you get the foundation, you can then expand into the very details of simple calculations and supplements.
Raw is working out great this time around.

    Great Read for Dog Lovers

I started feeding a raw diet to our German Shepherd over 2 years ago and have found this book to be a wonderful resource. It is full of very useful information and easy to follow. The writer also has a pretty good sense of humor :).

    Theory into Practice

I've read Martin, Billinghurst, Pitcairn and a few other references, and I'm convinced that a biologically appropriate diet is the healthiest for my pup, but my question has been how do I translate the basic concept into reality. This book is a perfect guide in how to do just that. If you're looking for the scientific background data, MacDonald abstracts it for you and gives you a useful list of references, but she doesn't go into those details. I recommend you read those first, then when you're convinced that raw is the best way to feed your dog, come back to this book to implement the change. MacDonald provides the information you need for the transition and to maintain your new feeding regime. That it's written in an engaging, often witty style, only adds to its success.
