Wonderful Book For Children
I was looking for a religious book for my grandson for Christmas. I was so happy when I received Really Woolly Bible Stories by Bonnie Rickner Jehsen. It was exactly what I wanted, something simple that he could even understand and in time be able to read to his younger brothers. I love how it rhymes while there are several poems, each giving one Bible story. It holds the Child's attention since the poems are so short but yet very accurate. This will be just the ticket to help introduce Jesus into my grandsons world. I received a copy of this book from Thomas Nelson in exchange for a review. No additional compensation has been received and I was not required to write a positive review.

Highly Recommended Book for Young Children
When I saw this book, I immediately request for it without a second thought, as I fall in love with the cute cover right away. The other reason is, I had been trying quite sometimes now, to find suitable Bible stories-related books for Iggy. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. It is a soft-padded board book and color of the book is soft purplish. In fact, the color is so soft that at first I thought it is white in color. Each Bible stories in the book are presented in two-page spread, where on one side, the stories are told in poem form with little Really Woolly characters doing something related to the stories together and on the other sides is the cartoon-style illustrations.
I am really happy with this book as Iggy loves it. He usually follows me around the house when I am doing some chores. On the day when we first get the book, he brought the book to the kitchen where I was at, occupied with preparing his food, and settled himself down on the kitchen floor, flipping through the book.
I try to cultivate the love to read in Iggy. Whenever I can, I would try to get him sitting on my lap with me holding a book in front of him and read to him. He usually gets impatient with me and tried to flip through the book without waiting for me to point out the pictures in the pages. The first time when I tried to read Really Woolly Bible Stories to him, he is his old self. Getting impatient and tried to flip through the book as he likes. However, as the stories in the poem format are real short I was able to picked up a few keywords and pointed out something in the pictures. The next time, when I tried to read the stories to him, he actually exhibits more patience and able to let me pointed out more stuffs to him. By the third time, he is actually looked for the Really Woolly characters and pointed them out to me. Whoa! That's a real improvement for Iggy!
There are a few features of the book that I truly loves. For one, it is the size and weight of the book. The size is just right for toddler like Iggy and it is also light enough for him to carry around easily. Secondly, under the cartoon-style illustrations, there are scripture reference that tells you where to find the story in the Bible. Lastly, the book closes with poem-format prayer for children, that shows the Really Woolly characters tucked in for the night.

This is a padded board book with lovely illustration.
In it there are several favourite all time Bible stories. It's being told in simple way. Some are in the form of a few lines that rhymed.
My two year old boy love this books. He would point to the illustration and say "Stars", "Baby Jesus" and surprisingly he even recognised the word Lions.
I think it's a good way for him to start learning about the Bible and at the same time have fun doing it.
This book is suitable for toddlers and young readers.
I give it 5 stars.

Very sweet book
Really Woolly Bible Stories. Cute. Simple. Perfect for toddlers. This little bible story book is just precious! It has a soft padded cover and board pages, so it will stand up to little fingers and mouths. It has adorable, simple pictures that will definitely apeall to young kiddos, and every picture is accurate for Bible times (not little lambs like I thought it would be.) However, on the facing page are adorable Really Woolly characters doing something that corresponds with the story. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. The rhyming text is what really sets this Bible story book apart. The lyrics are rhythmic, sometimes sing-songy, and really catchy. This is a really fun book to read, and since that is the whole point of a Bible Story book, that's a pretty good thing. I did find that some of the vocabulary a bit of a stretch, even for my brilliant homeschooled toddlers. Scheme? Wed? Defiant? A little above the toddlers' understanding, but it does not really take away from the charm of the book. And do we REALLY expect our two-year-olds to have a true understanding of 'David and Goliath'?
Overall, I thought this book was really sweet and tender, and would be a great bedtime storybook for the littlest children.

It's small in size, and contain biblical stories from Old and New Testament. The bible story book is written in the form of rhyme, and it encourages children to look up the complete story in the bible. :D
This is a really nice book. II may be an adult, but this book caught my attention nevertheless. Perfect for you if you're a parent and wants to read bible stories to your children during bedtime.
My all time favourite is Noah's story. In this Really Wooly Bible stories, Noah's story is told like this:
His name was Noah, his heart was good,
He built an ark of solid wood,
The animals entered, two by two,
The cakatoo, the kangaroo.
For forty days the rain came down,
Then God sent wind to dry the ground.
He placed a rainbow in the sky,
His colourful promise, way up high!
Very short and sweet, isn't it? Very easy for children to understand. And on the page where the illustrations is, it reads : Read all about Noah in Genesis 6-9. Same goes with other stories like David and Goliah, Jonah, Joseph, Abraham and many more biblical figures. There's a rhyme one one page, along with illustrations as well as the bible reference. Really good and encouraging for children. I like this story book very much, even though I'm no longer a child.
This story book is perfect for bedtime stories session and for read-along. Highly recommended, and I give this book two thumbs up. I rate this book 5 stars out of 5.
I received this bible story book free from Thomas Nelson Publishers for an advance reading as part of their Booksneeze bloggers program . I was not required to write a positive review and therefore, the book review is 100% my own opinion.

Sweet Simple Read
'Really Woolly Bible Stories' by Bonnie Rickner Jensen and illustrated by Julie Sawyer Phillips is a simple sweet collection of favorite Bible stories told in rhyme. The rhymes are really well done capturing the essence of these stories while keeping it a fun and flowing read that the youngest of children will enjoy listening too. The book starts with the scripture verses John 10:11 and Isaiah 40:11 as a premise helping to tie the really wooly sheep character into the Biblical references of Jesus the good shepherd tending to his lambs and how we are a His child and how He cares for us. There are 16 Bible stories retold in this book with the scripture reference and it concludes with "A Prayer for You" poem in the back which makes for a wonderful good night prayer to share each night with your little one. Each story is accompanied by the really cute really Woolly and his friends a rabbit and a duck as well as a picture portraying the Bible story. It's a wonderful read geared more towards preschool age and younger but sure to charm all ages. I am very happy with this book and I am adding it too one of my favorite books to give to new moms to be. I received a free copy of this book through Thomas Nelson Publishing's Book Sneeze book review program. The opinions expressed in this review are my own and I was not required to provide a positive review. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Really Woolly Bible Stories
This is a board book by Bonnie Rickner Jensen and is illustrated by Julie Sawyer Phillips. It is geared for ages 3-5 and tells several short Bible stories in poetic form. The pictures are illustrated with the Really Woolly characters which the little children love. The story/poem is on one side and the picture of the story is across the page. So it is wonderful to be able to read the poem to your youngster and have them able to look at the picture at the same time. The poem is just long enough to hold their attention and the fact that it is a board book means that it holds up to some sudden and ambitious page turning. Was this review helpful? I want to add that our 3 year old daughter loves it and is glad to have a Bible story book of her own. And I can have her hold it or carry it around and I don't have to be afraid of torn pages, etc. I would recommend this book as a sturdy addition to a preschooler's library.

It's a nice board book with a padded cover and really thick pages. Inside the book are 16 stories from the Bible, along with an introduction and a closing prayer. Stories include creation, Noah, Abraham, Daniel, Moses, David and Goliath, Jesus is Born, Jesus Welcomes the Children, and the Cross and the Tomb, to name just a few.Was this review helpful? Each story in this book is presented in a very simple fashion- just a few paragraphs of rhyming lines that introduce your child to the story. On the next page there is a full page drawing from the story, along with information guiding you to the place in the Bible where the full story can be read.
My kids are 3 and 1, and they both really liked this book. The simple presentation of the stories in rhyming lines really kept my 3-year-old's attention, and I felt that it was a good way for him to start learning these Bible stories. My 1-year-old loved the pictures, particularly the drawings of the little lamb that appear somewhere on each page. If there's a little one in your life that you'd like to share the Bible with, this book is a great place to start.
Disclosure: I received a copy of this book to review for myself, thanks to the Booksneeze program. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions posted here are mine and mine alone.

Great for a baby gift...
When I saw this book, I wanted it! Really Wooly cards have been around for a long time and they always make me laugh! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
This is not a "true" Bible! It is more like a board book of rhymes.
My 4 year old enjoyed sitting down, looking at the pictures and reading the sweet poems.
I was hoping for a little more depth. The pictures did hold my child's interest and provoked conversation.
This would make a neat baby's gift but I probably would not count on this book to provide much spiritual insight.
Blessings to you! You are loved!

Really Woolly Bible Stories
Take a journey with your child through some of the Bible's most well-known stories. Read about Noah, Abraham, Daniel, Jonah, Jesus and others. Each story demonstrates God's great love and power as the Good Shepherd. Really Woolly Bible Stories is appropriate for children up to the age of 8. (Approximately) Younger children who can not read will enjoy the illustrations while the older children will enjoy reading the book. The book features a hard cover and thick pages that seem like they would be durable. I liked how each story was followed by a little notation telling where the story could be found in the Bible. I think this would be helpful if you were reading it to a child and you wanted to tell the child more. Each story is presented briefly and obviously can not cover every facet. However, by giving the reference, it gives an opening for parent and child to study more about a particular story if they want to. Must have for any small child
Such an adorable little book of Bible stories, perfect for infant up to 4-5 years. Stories are very short and to the point, easy to understand words and engaging pictures to acompany the story. Key words are in pink, offering opportunity for discussion as they are often bigger words, or words a child might be unfamiliar with. Stories in this book include creation, Abraham, the 10 Commandments, Jonah and so many more. 16 stories in all, with an introduction and a prayer at the end.Was this review helpful? A board book with a padded front cover, this book is sturdy for little hands, resilient and able to put up with drool and food, along with whatever else a child might smear on it. Illustrations are pastels mostly, cheery and soft, with cute animal characters and friendly looking people. Multiple races are represented in pictures. Each story has a reference to where the complete story can be found in the Bible.
Highly recommended! A cute little story book just long enough to hold short little attention spans, put up with abuse, conform to little hands and convey a message within a familar Bible story. A great gift and welcome addition to any children's library collection.
