Outstanding and intelligent techno-thiller
I picked up Realtime Interrupted as something to read for a couple of hours while waiting for a flight. I didn't put it down again for seven hours. What made this book so good was that it raises a host of relevant issues that we deal with today - Brilliant honest employee vs corporate monster, human intelligence vs computer AI, virtual reality, and managing life. The author devotes a lot of time having the characters in the book work on these issues, and sometimes have long discussions on these subjects. These discussions does not become dull and textbookish, but involving, seeming to want the reader to think more upon what the answer should be himself. The book really starts in the middle of the story, and is divided in two timelines, what happened before, and what is happening now. Only little by little does the author reveal the intricacies of what is going on. This format did a good job of keeping me on edge and interested in how the main character ended up in such a mess. The book is definitely a good buy for people who are into true science fiction. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
