    Reckless

When Kat Adair dives into the river to rescue the object of her secret crush,David Turnberry, she quickly learns she has plunged into more than she bargained for. First, Hunter Macdonald tries to rescue her, needlessly. Then, she fakes amnesia to get closer to David for a little longer. However, that ruse does not last until the water gets hot. Then, she is rewarded with the chance to come along on an Egyptian expedition with the noble family. However, Kat is lovely, albeit not of the gentry. She could easily steal the hearts of the men along on the journey, including David, who is virtually promised to another. To save her from being expelled, Hunter marries her. It is never merely a convenient marriage, they do have a real attraction, but can it be love? ....................... The amnesia plot that begins the book seems rather pointless, and it is never clear what Kat sees in David. However, this is a fairly entertaining read that moves quickly.

    its okay ~

This wasn't one of the best books for me. It was slow starting but i will say that some parts were very funny. If i was kat i would of chose Hunter all along he's strong and smart and isnt a young careless boy. With David he doesnt trule know what he wants for a wife except maybe money. idk. This book is okay but i wouldnt read it again. i love shannon drake but not this time. CANT WAIT FOR HER NEXT BOOK!

    a fun one

I liked the mermaid bit, that was cool, and I totally fancy david with his beautiful eyes and his falling into doorknobs (I could not stop laughing).

    It was alright.

When I first read what it was about, I thought 'oh this is going to be good.' Well the back cover was very misleading. First of all David and Hunter aren't best friends. Through out the book Hunter is irritated by David. Secondly, Kat doesn't stow away on the ship... she was invited along. Other then that the book was an okay read.

    Lovely

Although the plot was a bit lacking, the story had real merit. Some characters were wonderfully famiar from Wicked and the new ones were delightful. The romance is ironic, inconvenient and convenient at the same time.

    Awesome

I loved it! Kat is kind of niave when it comes to her 'love' David. After she figures some things out she understands that she really does love Hunter. I love the suspense and exillaration it gives you. I love it!!!!

    Totally Loved It!!

I love books that capture the spirit of romance and passion. This does exactly that. With the backdrop of exotic Egypt, how could the men (Hunter and David) not be scandulously sensous? And its only right that Kat be fiery and rebellious. Its a delicous sexy novel, well worth reading.

    An exhilarating historical romantic suspense

From the deck of her father¿s vessel the Promise, Katherine ¿Kat¿ Adair sees her beloved Lord David Turnberry fall from his ship The Inner Sanctum into the Thames when no one reacts, she jumps and rescues him. However, before she can get back to her boat, she runs out of steam. Notorious rake Lord Hunter Macdonald sees the two ¿fools¿, jumps in, and saves her life though she refuses to acknowledge he did. Afterward David insists someone deliberately pushed him into the river................... Hunter asks Kat¿s father, an artist, whether his daughter can join an Egyptian archeological expedition. He agrees, but she becomes concerned when she hears rumors of some dying on their last trek. When Hunter learns that David wants to make Kat his mistress, he decides to protect her by naming her as his fiancée. In the Sahara someone tries to abduct Kat with only Hunter keeping her safe. She falls in love with her heroic rescuer who feels the same way as they search for items of antiquity while trying to uncover who is behind the deadly attacks on this expedition and the previous one.............. This is an exhilarating historical romantic suspense due to the RECKLESS antics of the heroine who dives head first into dangerous situations that forces her champion to keep rescuing her. The story line is action-packed but brings out the English Egyptology period during the reign of Queen Victoria especially in Egypt. Fans of nineteenth century adventure romances will appreciate Shannon Drake¿s tense thriller.............. Harriet Klausner
