It's amazing what Jill Kismet, the main character in this series, goes through in order to keep her city clean of hellbreed. I don't know how she does it and lives day-to-day. Fortunately, she has her lover Saul, a were-cougar, other were friends, cops, and other friends in her corner who help out from time to time. But really, it's all about her, and how she survives. This series is non-stop action, and completely crazy! I'm definitely reading the next book in this series!

I enjoyed the first two books in this serious, but when I was about half-way through this book, Redemption Alley, I felt like I was having a serious case of deja vu. Jill Kismet is an awesome character, however, NOTHING EVER CHANGES for her. In three books, she has neither moved forward nor backward. She even says the same couple things in every book! I know some will say, "well, she got married in the last book" and yes, she did, but we didn't experience that with her and her introduction to Saul's were-family and the community would have been fantastic for the readers. I feel extremely disappointed by Ms. Saintcrow; it seems that she has a template for this series that allows her to change a few key points and publish book after book that are full of incredibly similar work. I have never given up on a series half-way through it (and I read, on average, one book every other day), but I'm finished with this one...I cannot bare to see a character with so much potential completely disregarded by her creator, who I believe is so obsessed with people stealing her books that she is mass producing them to make money (check out her blog if you'd like to better understand what I mean).

    I Also Recommend:

    Good Read

I like it because I like strong women who have vulnerabilities. This book has good characters, good and bad, it moral dilemmas would be challenging most and Jill has a good heart but bad history and she strives to do the right thing and do the job that both she choose and, in a way, choose her.

Nothing new-if you like Saintcrow then it's perfect.

I like Lilith's writing style and her character is quite good. I wish her characters were a bit more distinct since, in my opinion, her female characters from her other series are very similar.

I was also curious what new plot lines she would conjure up. This one was interesting but, in a series, one of the dangers is that the author will beging to become cliche.

I hope that doesn't happen here.

All around a good, above average read but it doesn't hit the pinnacle for me. It's a keeper.
