    Book Review Outline
Book title and author: The Reluctant Dragon Kenneth Grahame
    Title of review: the dragon
Number of stars (1 to 5):3

The book is about a dragon that is very lazy and a farmer finds him and the farmer tells his family theirs a dragon in a cave so the boy meets the dragon and becomes friends with him.
Description and summary of main points
The author likes to usse excitement in this book to show how the dragon and the boy are friends. I a, judgeing the book on how much excitement and entertainment it brings to me and maybe to every one that reads it. One of the main points is when the boy meets the dragon and the dragon is scared and tells the boy “Now don’t you hit me,or bung stones,or squirt water.”
I thought the book was pretty good because it showed that some people can do things that other people cant do and if you read books you will beable to get through tough situations like the boys father.the boy would read fictions books and he learned about dragons so it helped him talk to the dragon and that is my opinoin on the book why I think its good.
The conflict ended by the dragon becoming friends with the knight but the people wanted him to die he pretended to fight the knight and acted like the knight killed him and then left in the middle of the night.
    Your final review
I would suggest that other people read the book because it is very interresting.

    Mark's Review

'The Reluctant Dragon' by Kenneth Grahame is a great short story. It is about a boy who stumbles upon a dragon. He soon tells the town folk about his discovery. After, the town begins using the dragon as a scapegoat for all of the problems. A man named St. George is hired to slay the dragon. The boy has a conversation with the dragon and discovers he is a kind hearted dragon. In the story there are several characters, the boy, the father, the dragon, the mother, and St. George. This story reminded me of 'Beauty and the Beast' in that the dragon and the beast are both noble characters but are mistook to be horrible. The problem with the book that I had was that it was probaly intended for a younger audience. It is good for children in that it teaches strong morals.

I like this book because it teaches me a lesson of compassion and justice. The young boy defended the dragon because he did not misjudge it by its looks. The people from the village were dishonest for making false accusations about the dragon; but the young boy never let them confuse him from his own feelings about the dragon. A very good story to read and good lesson to learn.
