We all need a hot man!
I love the humor you find in a Rachel Gibson book. My only complaint about her is that she doesn't publish enjoy books a year. Rescue Me is the third book in the Lovett Texas Series. The series started with Daisy's Back In Town and there is a ebk called Crazy On You. As much as I'll miss Gibson's hockey books this one makes up for it. It has everything you want in a book, romance, sex, tears. This is the perfect book to take on the either the beach or a vacation. Once you read her you'll be hooked.

Is there always something more to look forward to?
Sadie Jo always tried to be perfect regardless of the fact that she was not. Coming from a small town, Sadie knew the rules. Everyone in town always reminded of what she did not have as opposed to what she possesses. Sadie skedaddled out of Lovett, Texas as soon as she was legally able and never looked back until now when circumstances are holding all the Sadie destiny cards.
Vince Haven still lives his life under the code of honor that guides every Navy SEAL, keep your life in order and be prepared for what may come. What started for Vince as a chance of scenery with a quick visit to an aunt wound up getting him committed to life in a small town with some serious benefits. Ever the prepared man the one thing that Vince never saw anticipated to knock him off his boots was Sadie, a sassy Texan in the most amazing package possible with a great bit attitude. They tried hard to fight the attraction because both have excessively many unresolved childhood issues to give everything to a relationship. Yet when they are pushed to the brink of despair every time they pull one another up and show how committed they are to each other.
Rachel Gibson writes from the inner core of every relationship where the truth lives and the love flourishes.14 out of 14 people found this review helpful.

Haven't even read it yet....why does B & N say 384 pages when my Nook says 193? Minus extra pages not actually part of the story? Hope you realize that people really will stop buying if they feel like you are trying to rip them off....

I love Rachel Gibson's books. She may be the only author I pre-order regularly, and I eagerly wait for updates on her pub dates. Her writing style, her strong women, her smoldering men, and her flair for secondary characters never fail to delight me. That said, something was lacking with this one. It was too short for one, nearly 30 pages shorter than it should have been, and for another there were multiple loose ends that were never tied up. I had to flip back to see if I missed a section. Some pretty big things were mentioned and then never mentioned again, not even to set up for a future book. Normally a 5 star author, this attempt gets 3 stars for being shorter than it should be, and for leaving out important stuff. Still, what was there was pretty awesome.

Another winner from Rachel
Rachel did it again. Another great book!! I loved the Chinook hockey series books and didn't think I would like her other books, but I was wrong! I love all of her books and I don't think she has ever written a bad book. I love how she brings characters from other books into her current books. Thank you Rachel for making my day yet again and giving me more great books to re-read!!

Rescue Me by Rachel Gibson is a funny and touching story about love and families.
Sadie Hollowell tried over the years to keep her visits to her hometown of Lovett, Texas to a minimum. Its not that she didn’t like her home town, she just never felt like she fit in, especially with her tough as nails rancher father. But her cousin asked her to be in her wedding, so she travels back to Lovett. She is barely back in town when she meets Vince Haven. Sadie is tired of the talk that she can’t hold a man and asks Vince to be her date at the wedding. Vince doesn’t plan on being in Lovett long so he turns Sadie down flat.
Vince Haven is an ex Navy seal and is visiting his Aunt Luraleen the owner of the local Gas and Go. Vince only planned on staying in town for a bit but his aunt makes him an offer to buy the Gas and Go. Vince needs something to occupy his mind and repairing the local establishment might just be the ticket. Then again there is the luscious Sadie Hollowell who needs to be rescued. Maybe staying in Lovett might just be what Vince needs.
Sadie’s plans change to only be in town long enough for the wedding when her father takes ill. Running the ranch and running her business long distance are taking their toll. She turns to Vince for what starts out as a no string affair. Soon they both realize that they might have found something worth holding onto with both hands held tight.
Rescue Me is a fun, sexy and emotional story. You find yourself drawn into these characters world and eager to find out if they can make a go of it. Sadie and Vince’s chemistry is witty and down right all out sassy. These two will stay in your heart long after you turn the last page. In my book you can’t go wrong with a Rachel Gibson story.1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Outdated steteotypes
I lived the first 25 years of my life in Texas. I didn't recognize anything in this book that felt true. Perhaps if this had taken place in 1950 it would have had some semblance of reality. Please don't base the real Texas on these characters and their stereotypical and outdated attitudes.

Must read!
I got hooked on Ms. Gibson after reading her story published in Secrets of a Perfect Night. Have read all her books (in less than a month) and am waiting patiently for her new release.
