Candace Cameron Bure is the famous pre-teen beauty from Full House and is one of Kirk Cameron's sisters. (He was on Growing Pains, remember?)
What's missing on that beautiful face of hers, though?
Oh, yeah! The cute, chubby cheeks.
You see, in the years since we last saw her on Full House she has done some growing up. And I must say, it looks beautiful on her. However, those years in between the cutesy pre-teen days and now have by no means been easy for her.
In Reshaping It ALL, Candace openly shares the story of her life growing up as an actress, battling an eating disorder, and rediscovering her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior.
Candace Cameron Bure candidly (no pun intended) opens up her life and shares lessons learned along the way so that we can glean wisdom and practicality from her struggles and successes. Candace offers everything from narrative life recounting to thoughtful quotes she finds inspiring. She presents scripture to go along with each chapter as well as some down-to-earth advice on how to succeed at reshaping your body and soul. She even includes a favorite recipe with each chapter---several of which I have since made and enjoyed.
Though Candace's problem is/was more in the area of addiction to food, my struggles are not the same. I do enjoy food, however I am pretty good about not overindulging and such. My issue is exercise---or lack thereof. Because I lack the energy, time, motivation, and stamina to begin and maintain a regular exercise program, my body is now showing the fruit of it. I could not have gotten this book at a better time.
Thanks to Candace's encouragement, I plan to make this INSPIRATION turn into PERSPIRATION.
And who knows, maybe that will in turn produce some much needed REJUVENATION!

Must read book for the new year!
If you've ever struggled with food, diets or living healthy & staying healthy this is the book for you. Candace is honest and straightforward in her struggles with bondage to food & trying to live a healthy lifestyle and how she finally found freedom and victory through her relationship to God and His Word. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will most definitely recommend it to friends. Candace beautifully weaves together personal family stories, practical tips and scripture that has guided her on her journey to healthy living. It is by far one of the most unique and useful books on the market to help you reshape your body in 2011. Definitely a must read book!

Loving encouragement, not a tell-all or a lofty impossibility...
I am really enjoying this book. To be honest, I hesitated to buy it after I read a bunch of the reviews. Some made me want it more; some made me cautious. I had heard Candace Cameron Bure' speak and found her to be genuine and sincere, but that was over a year ago, and I wondered if I had missed something? Some of the reviews make this book sound as if it is centered on her and how amazing she is and that she serves a god of discipline. I find that NOT to be the case...more on that in a moment.
I actually had the opportunity to her hear speak again LAST FRIDAY and was taking a friend, based on my previous experience. Once again, I was delighted with how genuine she is, how much she loves her Lord and Savior, and how deeply she feels that need for everyone to know Him...and delight in Him...and give their whole selves to Him...
I had just begun following her and the co-author, Darlene Schacht (a darling woman of God), on twitter a short time before, and right after hearing her speak last week, I saw that there was a "65 days to Reshaping It all" challenge beginning in a few days. That did it. Having heard her speak so wonderfully again, having considered this purchase for awhile, and having various other confirmations that this was resource I was supposed to get, I ordered it the very next day.
I'm not disappointed.
I don't know what other reviewers were referring to when they mention the book jumping around or not being well-written...I have not found that to be the case at all! Granted I have only read 3 chapters, but honestly, I think a writing style would be prevalent by now, and those remarks do not characterize what I am seeing.
I am seeing warmth, open-ness, and loving encouragement. Is it a sordid tell-all? No. Doesn't need to be. Candace openly acknowledges faults, quirks, what have you...issues that are just as the Word says, "common to man" which we all share, so guess what? We can all relate. (and by the way, having faults does not make one less of a Christian or ruin their witness...God has used many "fallen" folks along the way! and we ALL are! That's why we needed Jesus! and still do.)
Is it rocket science? No. Many of us already know in our hearts what she is saying, and maybe just needed it confirmed this one last time. or next 30 times. As far as nutritional advice, again, nothing majorly new here, if you have read anything about nutrition...moderation, whole foods, eating when you are hungry and abstaining when you are not...but the focus is on how our relationship with God can change us from the inside out and give us the power to stand in these areas!
So, if you are looking for a new diet book, or celebrity tell-all, or magic method to weight loss...this isn't really it...or maybe it is. Depends on your perspective...
If you are looking to be changed from the inside out (and have that change be reflected in your health--physical, mental and spiritual), you must seek God first...and this book just may have the encouraging words that help you get there, or affirm that you are normal, or point you back to the Best Book of all...
If you have a good friend or sister to whom you often listen for loving advice, you know how to hear that...THAT is what this book is like...pull up a chair, have a cup of coffee or tea, and sit down for a chat with sister/friend Candace...maybe her story will help you!4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

A very enjoyable read
I really enjoyed this book. Candance shares A lot of very inspiring passages both in her own words and biblical. I found myself so inspired at times that I was sharing those passages on Facebook. I would certainly recommend this book to anyone who struggles with their relationship with food.

Very inspirational - Must Read
I grew up watching Candace Cameron as DJ on Full House, as I am sure most of us did, and I have always enjoyed watching her in all of her movies and TV shows. I have been amazed reading this book. She is so down to earth and a lot like you or I in most aspects of her life (other than the obvious). So far, this book has pushed my thinking to the next level about my spiritual and physical fitness and this was a push I definitely needed. Thank you Candace for writing this book. You are truly an inspirational person.

Great Read!
I really enjoyed this book. Candace shares pieces of her life mixed in with weight loss and living healthy. Candace has some really great points, ideas and encouragement throughout the book. There are pictures of her and her family. Some areas she seemed a little stuck on herself, but overall a wonderful, uplifting book. In the future, I am going to reread this book, just because the information and ideas are really good. She also includes easy, healthy, fast fix recipes. You can use this book with women's Bible Study groups. She loves the Lord, and she shares things about her personal walk with Jesus. I would highly recommend this book. GREAT read!

Great, great book!
I was never a huge fan of Full House but I have really enjoyed reading Candace's book. Full of great ideas on how to lead a healthy lifestyle with the family. NOT a diet book--thank goodness. The world has enough of those. It was interesting to read about her personal struggle with food. Can't wait to apply what I learned in the book--some of it I have heard before but it provided a good reminder on how to be balanced. Would recommend to friends!
