In the late sixteenth century in Scotland, her abusive stepfather Calum Tannach arranges for Honora to wed the oldest son of Laird Sinclare, Artair. However, on their wedding day, Cavan Sinclaire, thought dead, crashes the ceremony. Calum realizes he is the rightful heir and demands he marry Honora. She knows he once saved her life when she was eight years old, but one look at her new betrothed leaves her fearful that this big man will be as brutal as her stepfather although his eyes twinkle with kindness.------------- Cavan knows his immediate need is to keep his people safe from raiders, but he will honor the wedding contract that states the eldest Sinclaire will marry Honora. Still although he believes she is a pretty lass he will not allow her to interfere with his obsession to insure his clan┬┐s safety. As passion turns to desire and desire to love, Cavan believes he is fortunate, but now must convince his wife they were intended for one another even as someone causes dissension, despair, and destruction.--------------- Though typical of the historical highlander romance especially the return of the prodigal son, readers will appreciate this fine sixteenth century tale. The lead couple is a fabulous pairing as neither is prepared to marry the other, but obligation (and contracts) supersede their desires soon love supersedes all desires. Fans will appreciate the RETURN OF THE ROGUE as he understands his duty to his clan and to his wife while she proves his equal.------ Harriet Klausner

I have realized that most of the time I judge a romance novel by how much the hero appeals to me. This one didn't appeal to me at all. He was stubborn, inconsiderate, and verbally abusive. Then suddenly he falls in love and becomes stubborn, inconsiderate, and unsure of himself. I find it hard to swallow that she fell madly in love with him.

Excellent, fast read that I truly recommend!

You are kept on your toes the whole entire way & you don't know what to expect. Cavin is Honorah's Hero! Only Cavin doesn't know this yet. He has been abused by warriors & now he is married to a beautiful woman. What is he to do? Why did he have to marry? Will he love her ever? Read this book & you will find out, it's great!!! Loved it!

    Return of the rogue

This book was great. I loved the plot from the beginning, and as i read it everything just got better and better. Do NOT pass this book up. In the end you will be wondering how they are doing at saving money for the next book.

    What about Ronan?

I normally like the modern paranormal stuff. But this story was fantastic. I fell in love with the entire Sinclare clan and Honora. Even with the annoying historical dialog, this is one of my favorite books. Honora is adorable, and poor tortured Cavan is well worth Honoras love. I am really really wanting a story following up on Ronan. Surely this author won't leave us hanging too much longer. 'Or has she already done it and I just don't know which book it is? Someone fill me in'. This is a definate reread for me!!

    One of my Favorites

I was worried at first. The last few books that I have read by Fletcher have either been slow or wonderful and the few books I read before were not my favorites. But as soon as I turned the page, the characters have enthralled me.

    Excellent Read

Ms. Fletcher has done it again. I enjoy the book so much that I finish in one day. She pulls the reader right in she makes you fill that you are right there with the characters.
