Handbook for 9/11? Before the event?
This thriller is astonishing. Published in 1999, the book describes as background a terrorist organisation and a sequence of events that are so so close to 9/11 that they could almost be described as Osama bin Laden's handbook. His analysis of terrorist motivation could have been written yesterday. We're only just catching up with what this author foretold back then. It's a good thriller too, with characters much better drawn than usual in the genre, and a fine analysis of the difference between love and lust. Was this review helpful? Highly inventive imagining of the origins of the La Femme Nikita character. While Burnell takes an established character, there is nothing derivitive in his depiction. The story is super but above all Burnell is a fantastic writer. Extremely enjoyable and very readable. For anyone who loves a good thriller, this is the top of the game. A publisher should reissue all of Burnell's books in paperback. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
