My best source for London tourist information

I bought two London tourist books. I read this one almost cover to cover at least twice before my trip and hardly used the other. Rick Steves' book was an easy read with excellent tips for what to see, when to see it, how to best get around the city and manage my budget. Rick Steves' books will be my first choice for all European travel in the future!

    Diasppointed

I was very disappointed. I watch his TV show and expected more. It was a very superficial book. I could find most of this information in any other guidebook. I left the book at home.

    The Only One to Buy

For our recent trip to the U.K we purchased too many guide books. Unfortunately, we carried quite a few with us in our luggage!!!
Rick Steve's was the only one we actually used! We sure wasted a lot of money buying more than one guide book. It was comical to see many other tourists reading along in Rick's book as they toured the National Gallery or Westminster Abbey! It was like a travel club where we smiled and nodded to each other. I would recommend this book highly.

    great resource!

This guidebook is comprehensive and informative. Used it on recent short trip to London. Explains best tickets for tube, great section on theater tickets, etc, does the usual mini-tours of major sights, etc. Nice section on daytrips out of London. I do wish that he included more lodging and restaurant suggestions... they are by neighborhood, which is great, but could have used a few more choices in these categories. The two restaurants we tried that he had mentioned were very good.... although kind of full of Americans... (guess they had the same guidebook!)Overall, easy to use and well-written.
