Insight into how your food is raised.
Strong beginning tells of the authors work in fighting the pollution of industrialized farming within the United States. The book then gives great detail on how industrialization worked its way into food production and the harmful effects of such operations. However, once this portion is done, the story transforms into a more autobiographical account of her life ranching and efforts made within that business by her family to increase animal husbandry and remove industrial practices.
Extremely eye opening and has led me to seek out specialty grocers and farmer's markets for better produced food. Also, definitions such as organic, locally produced, and hormone free are better understood. I now feel I shop and eat better on a weekly basis.1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.
