Same Llewellyn formula, different name

This book reads like most Llewellyn books on Witchcraft. The history and reasoning behind the rites are not well documented. Even the mythology seems off. The only worthwhile parts of the book, what earns it even a one star rating, are short and near the end. There are a few crafts for the reader to try and a list of sagas for further reading.

    I Also Recommend:

Just Wicca with Norse gods added

In this book the author takes Wiccan Rites and places the Norse gods into them. This book is not appropriate for any who wish to live in the Norse way. If, however, one is just wanting to work with these gods in ones own rites this may be worth a look.

For those who are wanting to learn about this culture or way of life directly, I suggest reading the Eddas and legends of this culture.

    I Also Recommend:

A must have for anyone interested in Odinism and Asatru

I bought this book after thumbing through my dad's, I knew it was something to have. I had just started my journey into Asatru and this book really helped me get a basic understanding to grow on.For new beginners, those that have been into it for while, or anyone just wanting to check it out, you will not be disapointed.

    Wiccan not Asatru

For those reawakening to Germanic spirituality, this book will come as a shocking disappointment. It is nothing more than a Wiccan manual with Nordic gods used as ornamentation. As such, most Asatruar will not only find Fitch's work useless, but also likely insulting as well. The Germanic people simply did not worship this way. This book is a disservice to all those for whom ancestral ways are important.

    Couldn't be without this book!

This is the best book Ive ever bought! I love the rituals and information, no library should be without it! I think it does take a Wiccan approach to the Norse ways to make it easier for people, personally I like that style being Wiccan. Everyone should read this book!
