Rizzo's War received a 3 star rating by me. I thought that the on-duty stuff was better than the off-duty happenings. Rizzo's Fire rated 4 stars in my opinion as it became a better, more interesting book. Author Louis Manfredo did a good job of bringing a believable character to life in a well-worn genre. His street cop ran circles around any Joseph Wambaugh invention. And now, with Rizzo's Daughter, I worried that the author was just cashing in, stretching a winning formula to get one more book out of it. Rizzo's daughter is not the main character here, that remains Rizzo. But she is the driving force of the novel as we once again follow Rizzo through some interesting cop incidents. Yet ultimately it looks as if Manfredo is signaling the end of the series. I say that because the ending here does seem conclusive. Without giving it away, I can add my utter disappointment with it. If Manfredo is not done with Rizzo, I am.
