    Entertaining series

Grandson loves these books. I try to feed his love of reading by sending some familiar and some new. This Bone book was part of a package that included some biographies. He is enjoying all of them.

I would recommend this book because there’s a lot of action. It is a book series. It surprised me that it was so violent. If you like graphic novels you will like this book. I think it is about a 5th grade level. If you skip this book you won't understand the rest of the series. -Matthew

    You Must Read This :)

The forces of evil , the rat creatures and the hooded men are growing stronger but could our hero's worst enemy be Phoney Bone himself ? My favorite character was Bone because Bone was certain about his choices about where to go and was brave. I liked this book because it is a comic book , has awesome graphics and has a great story line. You should read this book because if you love an adventure and graphic novels , you will LOVE this book !

    8th grader's report

Being attacked by locusts and chased a by mountain lion doesn¿t stop Bone: Rock Jaw Master of the Eastern Border from being great. The fifth book is just as electrifying as the first four books. Jeff Smith knows how to write a series that is filled with adventure for every age. Fone Bone and Smiley Bone are on a mission to return a baby rat creature, that Smiley named Bartleby, back to the mountains. On their way to the mountains they face an arrogant mountain lion called Roque Ja. Roque Ja is a tricky. He pretends that he¿s going to help the Bone cousins even though he¿s leading them to the enemy. While the Roque Ja is being devious the possum children come across a raccoon named Roderick whose parents were eaten by the rat creatures. When they see the Bone cousins with Roque Ja and Bartleby assume that they are in danger. The possum children and Roderick thought of a plan that got Roque Ja and the rat creature off their trail for a little while. When trying to hide from Roque Ja they discover the temple of the Lord of the Locusts. Then they began heading towards Barrel Haven. Kingdok, the king of the rat creatures, returns with a swarm of locusts but, then disappear when a necklace falls out of Fone Bone¿s bag. The whole crew splits up and Bartleby goes with the rat creatures. I noticed that this made Smiley gloomy and, he probably doesn¿t want Bartleby to end up like an evil rat creature.
