It’s really hard to decide how I feel about this book.  On one hand I like the story, it’s well written with a lot of action and adventure.  I love zombie stories and it really does deliver on that level.  On the other hand, I’m not too thrilled about the characters.  Benny is your typical 15 year old who is a bit lazy and “me” centric which puts me off.  Wrap in all the bad guys and the town which Benny and Tom talk down about and I just couldn’t really like anyone other than Tom and the lost girl.  In the end I decided overall it was middle of the road in my humble opinion.

Will you enjoy this book? To answer that question, you need to look at the description, skip right past all the bit about "zombie-infested, post-apocalyptic America," and focus on the part that refers to "a vocation that will teach him what it means to be human." This is the essence of the novel: teen angst, introspection, and long, meaningful looks that convery more than words ever could. There just happens to be zombies in the background, and, more rarely, the foreground. The cover art is exceedingly misleading. I'm not saying it isn't well-written and thought-provoking, just that if you like a good dose of action with a side of character study, expect the complete opposite.

I think this book was a really good and different view of a zombie apocolypse. It was Awesome! Gives another view of going through a world epidemic in a way i can almost relate to.

    Interesting book

What a different twist on the zombie book. It has some gore, action scenes etc, the twist is, that this book is also about family and love.
