This is the first book I have read by this author. It will not be the last.

"Sector C" by Phoenix Sullivan begins with a few sick animals but soon extends to the local population. The symptoms were flu-like but the prognosis was death. Mike Shafer, CDC Demographic Statistician, noticed an increase in deaths in the Great Plains. He traveled to North Dakota to investigate why healthy toddlers, children, adults and the elderly were succumbing. Donna Bailey, local vet, was puzzled and deeply disturbed by the numbers of livestock and other animals suffering and dying from a disease that seemed similar to mad cow disease. She and Shafer join forces in their investigation. The clues lead to Triple E Enterprises, a corporation that breeds exotic animals. But is that all they do? Is genetic engineering playing God? Has Triple E Enterprise opened Pandora's Box?

Phoenix Sullivan offers readers a thriller plot that could have been ripped from the headlines of today's media. The author skillfully creates a sense of suspense that grows to a sense of terror as our main characters take on a corporation based on greed, conspiracy and betrayal. Both Donna and Mike are interesting characters that work well together. It was fun watching their romance slowly blossom. The author stirred my emotions with all the tragic and senseless deaths. It would not surprise me to see something similar to this in the headlines at any time. Greed knows no boundaries. This is the first book I have read by this author. It will not be the last.

Wow! Amazing plot, great characters and so realistic you want to check the news to see if this happened. I don't think reviews should give away the story, so I'll just say this book doesn't disappoint. Start it on the weekend or you might have to call in sick...I couldn't put it down until I finished the last page. This author is definitely on my watch list. Jp

This is a very good techno-thriller. It's set in the near future. It's fast paced and very well researched. I'd recommend it to fans of Tom Clancy.

Really enjoyed this book.  The premise is too close to reality to not be terrifying. Starts out with a
lot of medical info. Don't be put off by that it only last a few pages and you don't need to understand it to
    understand what is happening.
