This is an outstanding book for little ones who want look at the pics and hear a cute story that they can understand and enjoy. And if you happen to be taking a trip to SF with little ones - this will get them very excited about it, and help them feel comfortable - and even excited - about this "new adventure" for them. Fear of the unknown is a part of human nature; this type of fear is exacerbated for little ones who absolutely need to feel safe and secure - and one of the scariest things for most little ones is traveling to a new place. Their already vivid imaginations kick into overdrive on something like traveling, and amplify their trepidation. Besides just being a fun book in general, a book like this provides the additional bonus of helping to alleviate their fears of this unknown place - it allows them to turn this place from unknown to known.

Incidentally I have been a huge fan of Ward's artwork for a very long time. It is really great that he has branched out to print illustrations and art, as his style harkens back to the distinctive style of illustrations and art from the 1950's and early 1960's. Plus, this facet of his artistic style is perfect for children's books such as this. I hope he continues his journey into print illustrating, and producing excellent work like this.

    Cute, but literally for babies

I bought this title thinking my kids (ages 4 and 7) who may be visiting SF soon would enjoy it. It is a very short, extremely simple book with a four-line rhyme per page. It would be best suited for children two and younger.
