Only read the first 25 pages.

I can usually tell if I'll enjoy a book within the first couple chapters. With this one, I had to struggle to give the first 25 pages a chance. What I read of it just seemed silly and the writing was too confoluted. Maybe I should have given it a chance but it just didn't feel like it would be worth it.

    I Also Recommend:

    The Scarlet Spy

Interesting plotline. Different from any other historical romances available currently. This is the third book in the series. I love the idea that the women are just as good as shooting, riding and manipulations as they are at dancing, conversation and beauty.

    Entertaining¿
The Scarlet Spy by Andrea Pickens is the third book in a trilogy about a school for young ladies set in the Regency time period. This school takes orphan girls off the streets of London and teaches them the art of spying. I have not had the opportunity to read either of the other books, but I found this one to be entertaining. It took me several chapters to become truly interested, and, at times, I found it to be predictable; nonetheless, I did enjoy the read and found the last chapters to be true sit-in-your-seat page turners. I definitely recommend it to fans of historical romance and will put this author on my list of preferred authors.
