Awesome
I've read all of the books in this set,and I love them! My favorites are just delicious,in the 3rd one,wonderful sausage in the second,andin the first,the haunted house. They are the best books I ever read!

Good!
I myself get scared extremely easily, but I cannot resist reading a few good ghost stories, and these are no exception. These are irresistible and even when you're so scared you're shivering, you still want to keep reading. Awesome stories! I love how he took some from folklore and all that; it really makes them seem more real-ish. I completely recommend them.

too creppy 4 my sister (finally!).
every time i tell a scary story to my 27 year old sister,she always says that its 'too corny 4 words'but when i read these stories to her she was to scared to sleep alone for a few days!(i had to sleep wit her 4 a week!!!)i say this book rocks!

Great For A Young Scary Story Lover
Im always looking for a good scare, and these books are just great. Some of the pictures were soo scary, I had to cover some w/ ducktape! I get scared really easily, but I can never resist a good scary story! I would also recommend 'Campfire Ghost Stories' Vol. 1 and 2 for older readers. They are MUCH scarier. BEWARE!

Chills, Thrills, and ummm... More Thrills!
This set of stories scared me 3/4 my way to death... With a little added humor in book one. These stories show how true one mans fears, can be anyones true nightmare.

these books are so scary!!! They are great to read in the dark with a flashlight. Even though I've read them 5 times, they still send shivers up my spine

14 years later ...
wow I cant believe i found these books after all these years!! I remember going to my best friends house and reading them in her attic with flashlights when i was little. Now im 20 years old and still get creeped out reading them. These books are instant classics for any age.

Always great even after all these years.
I remember reading these books as a child. I would bring them to sleepovers and on camping trips and read them to my friends and family. I've decided I had to buy the box set because my old books are beat up and some even lost. I'm excited to bring them to college and read them with friends late at night. They're still scary after all these years and when I have children a whole new generation will be able to enjoy them!

18 yr old ordering the box set
I loved these stories as a kid, and I can still remember the stories till this day so I decided to purchase the box set, and im wanna make some short films based on these adaptions. Great none the less. SCARY!!!!

Still A Good Scare Years Later!:)
When I was a child, I read 'Scary Stories To Tell In the Dark,' then when I was older, I read the other two books. I told the story, 'Bloody Fingers' at Pine Mountain State Park one night at a 'Scary Story Session' one summer as a teen. Now, as an adult, I own paperback copies that I have colored into as a teen of these books and this hardbound copy of the set. I gave another copy of this book to my eight year old goddaughter when I took her to my local aquarium for a present, and she excitedly squealed in the back seat of my car on the way there: 'Scary Stories Collection!!! Cool!!! Now my big brothers will be jealous of me!' Even my goddaughter loves this bound set of books too, even at the age of eight. (My goddaughter is an avid reader for an eight year old, too.)

Awesome!
EXCELLENT!!! Has all of the great titles that scared me out of my wits as a child.All three of these books are classics. Highly enjoyeable and scary to the core. Great for telling with your friends! I've already recommended it to everyone I know!

Continuing the Tradition
I read this as a Halloween tradition growing up. It's the best collection of American ghost stories I've ever found.

These books rock!
I remember fighting over these books in the elementary school library and ordering them on class book orders. These stories have stuck with me all these years; they're sure to haunt you as well.

Great Book Still Scares Me
I remember reading this set of books when I was young. My sister would always scare me with these books. Now I am in college...still scared. Those stories have stuck with me for years. My sister is 25. Wow time flies.

The first time I ever got a taste of the pure horror of a scary story was when my cousin read me his Scary Stories To Read In The Dark 3 when I was five years old, I've never slept good since then. Now I've collected all three books and read every story about a hundred times each, first time experiences in this book include Harold, The Dream, and Bloody Marry...

These books are AWESOME!!
I started reading these when I was in second grade or thereabouts, and they totally scared me to death!! The illustrations are sooo incredibly creepy. They really add to the experience. I love the way the author tells the stories... I would lie in bed at night reading them, and my heart would be pounding and my eyes would be bugging out. There's just something about them that I can't quite place... All I can say is that these are REALLY great for anyone of any age that's interested in reading some good terrifying literature. I haven't found a better collection of scary stories yet.
