    Sensational

The sensual and thrilling Scions series continues in Insurrection by Patrice Michelle. _____________ PI Landon Rourke has lived his life separate from his pack, he is the typical lone wolf. He is drawn to her and feels the need to protect her. _____________ Detective Kaitlyn McKinney is a straight arrow, she has followed her dad into the job of protecting and serving the public. Responding to a police call late one night she runs into Landon. Something about this man calls to her and she can no longer fight the all consuming attraction she feels. ___________ Landon and Kaitlyn join forces when there are unexplainable murders in and around the city. One Kaitlyn becomes a target Landon will put aside everything to keep her safe. Kaitlyn has for a long time depended on herself and its so tempting to let Landon shelter her. Their attraction explodes with a passion neither realized was between them. But will Kaitlyn feel the same way when some secrets Landon is keeping are revealed. ___________ Patrice Michelle draws you into the world of werewolves and vampires like no other author. She creates a world that is unique and intriguing. Landon and Kaitlyn journey to love and understanding is sensual and moving. I can¿t wait to find out what is around the corner for this series.

an exhilarating contemporary romantic fantasy police procedural

NYPD police officer Kaitlyn McKinney responds to a call about a fire in a Morningside Park. As she looks at the strange burned body, private investigator Landon Rourke arrives on the scene. He refuses to acknowledge her belief there is something odd about the corpse although she sees the obvious.--------------- Landon hides from Kaitlyn that he is an exiled werewolf kicked out of his pack. He vows to keep the cop safe but hides his desire for her from her as he has since they first met. When two vampires attack her, Landon saves her life. As he continues to protect her, already half in love with one another before his diligence began, the pair fall totally in love. However since they are caught in the middle of a cold war turning hot between werewolves and vampires, safety and preventing a calamity comes before their desires.------------------- The sequel to SCIONS: RESURRECTION is an exhilarating contemporary romantic fantasy police procedural. The key to this engaging work is the paranormals seem genuine as the audience will believe that a lone werewolf and a human can fall in love while vampires try to take a bite out of the Big Apple.---------------- Harriet Klausner

    eh vampire sex, been done.

the story is somewhat interesting, though I feel like it is missing something and the sexish parts just don't seem to fit. Just my impression. though i did read the whole book to see what happened.

    a fabulous paranormal

As the werewolf Lupreda protector Caine Grennard knows he must leave since his mentor the Alpha leader Landon gives him no choice. To stay, he must wear a silver collar to keep him from going ¿zerker¿, which he knows that means he can not do his job. He leaves his pack to venture out on his own.

The former second in command feels all alone after three months delivering packages until he meets reticent waitress Emma Gray at the Squeeze night club and to his shock is attracted to her as he always assumed his soulmate would be a shapeshifter. Emma reciprocates his feelings even as Landon wants him back with his family and offers a full moon compromise. Soon after their first meeting Emma tells Caine someone kidnapped her Aunt Mary. Caine tells her he will find and try to rescue her. As they investigate together, their attraction turns to love. However, both are in for a shocker when they learn her aunt has been giving Emma vitamins that are actually shapeshifting suppressants; instead of a purebred human she is something else but not werewolf as he would have sniffed that; his fear is that something else is his pack¿s natural enemy.

The latest Scions romantic urban fantasy (see RESURRECTION and INSURRECTION) is a fabulous paranormal that works because the audience obtains a fascinating look at the relationships within the Lupreda pack. The romance is fun to follow as the secret behind what she is will enthrall the audience. The abduction of Aunt Mary takes a back seat to the bite between a unique star-crossed lovers twist.

Five stars... A recommended read. Scions Insurrection book two of the Scions series by Patrice Michelle takes up where Scions Resurrection left off. Only this story is focusing more on the sexy werewolf PI. Landon Rourke whom we first met in the earlier story. If possible this story is even better than the first, the characters especially that of Landon, the ultimate alpha male are extremely likable and well- rounded. The story line is especially interesting and while it would be helpful to read Scions Resurrection first this story is so well written that it could also be a stand-alone. There is also a very interesting twist to the story, that I would love to but can't divulge...

    Hot & Sexy New Paranormal

Ariel Swanson's entire family was slaughtered by Vampires and in an attempt to conquer her fears she wrote a novel about Vampires. A book that brought her to the attention of the very creatures she so feared and hated. Scions Resurrection is book one of a hot & sexy new paranormal series by Patrice Michelle. This story takes place in a world much like our own, but much darker. In this reality vampires were created by humans in an attempt to create a superior race. And then later destroyed when the experiment failed, or so they thought... I found Scions Resurrection to be a thoroughly enjoyable read, the action is intense and at times almost non-stop. The world building is masterfully done and the chemistry between the two main characters is so beautifully written. Jachin Black portrays the perfect alpha male who unwillingly finds himself drawn to the beautiful and feisty Ariel even though he despises humans as weak and pathetic creatures. And spunky Ariel Swanson is the perfect heroine, who finds the courage to face her fears and in the process finds a lasting love.

    Fantastic Read

This is the first book I¿ve ever read by Patrice Michelle. Scions: Resurrection is fantastic. It¿s not your usual soft and fluffy romance. This book has depth, grit and adventure that I didn¿t expect in a Silhouette novel. I love the character development of the heroine, Ariel. She morphs from a quiet librarian into a 'surprising to her' strong female that wears her bluster and bravado as a shield, even though she¿s shaking in her shoes. The hero, Jachin, does an opposite metamorphosis, due only to his unwanted developing desire and grudging respect toward Ariel. He unashamedly detests humans and is forced to revise his opinion of the entire race from his experiences with a single tiny woman into whose company he is forced - Ariel. His love for her breaks down barriers and makes him vulnerable as never before. The non-stop action/adventure in this book appealed to me greatly. The heart-tugging, seriously hot romance in this book hooked me completely. I¿m going out to purchase all of Patrice Michelle¿s books. Thanks for a great read Ms. Michelle!

    The beginning

Vampires are extinct......aren't they? When new author Ariel Swanson writes a book about vampires, she was hoping it would be cathartic for her. Helping her deal with the fact that years ago vampires had killed her entire family, and terrorized the rest of the population until they apparently died out. Her book however brings her to the attention of the vampires who had been hiding for the last quarter of a century. It especially brings her to the attention of vampire Jachin Black - a vampire that's been banished from his clan. Ariel unknowingly writes a prophecy at the start of her book the Vampire's Return that has so much detail that one of the few vampires who actually believes int eh prophecy is shocked. It's a prophecy that Jacchin believes in so strongly he will go to any lengths to help make it come to pass. A chance for peace among vampires and humans. In this first book of the Scions trilogy, author Patrice Michelle gives us the chance to find out if such a peace is possible. She gives us a solid background and characters that are more than just one dimensional. This is a harder and darker paranormal romance, and it has depth and an adventure I didn't want to see end. This is a thrilling read, the action is fast paced, and doesn't stop, a thoroughly enjoyable read, and I can barely wait for the next book in the trilogy.

    wonderful vampire romantic suspense thriller

Humans believe that the vampire species became extinct when their food supply became contaminated human blood had turned poisonous to the bloodsuckers. Thus Homo sapiens created and killed this ¿abomination¿ that no one misses. --- That belief that vampires no longer exist except in literature and movies ends at least for debut author Ariel Swanson. Her vampire thriller The Vampire¿s Return includes a forecasting that no human should know anything about yet she writes about this legendary prophecy in graphic detail in her first novel as if she is an insider. Exiled vampire Jachin Black kidnaps the writer in order to use her as his ticket back out of the New York City slums and in to his group. He never expected to fall in love with his prisoner during their trek she feels the same confusion that he does. Neither expected her fiction to be factual. --- Patrice Michelle provides a wonderful vampire romantic suspense thriller. The fast-paced story line has an interesting twist that humans knew vampires once existed, but now believe they are extinct. Ariel¿s novel turns out to be the impetus in what proves to be a cross species war. Fans will enjoy the RESURRECTION: THE BEGINNING as the night is filled with terror except in one home where love shines. --- Harriet Klausner
