Actual ASL (American Sign Language) Signs!
I use this book on all of my dive trips, it has really come in handy. The signs are adapted from ASL (American Sign Language) and they work topside too!

NW Recreational Diver
I was disappointed in this book. With such a great size and concept, I found it to lack much of the signs that would be much more useful underwater. Most, if not all, of the signs are common sense, don't make sense, or are easily confused with some of the others contained in it. Most of the signs you will definitely need underwater you should receive during Open Water training or make up yourself with a dive partner. Overall, I'd find it more advisable to save your money on this purchase to use on other, better-suited dive books, or make use of an American Sign Language book.

I love this book!
I am a scuba instructor from Texas, and I use this book and require all my students to buy one too! It is very helpful and fun to use underwater. I found all the signs that I have ever needed to use right here and they are easy to learn and fun, we even have a whole class designed around sign language with this book. It is one of my favorites! Underwater communication is important not only to beginning divers, but advanced divers need to learn this too!

Kind of disappointing - missing a lot of useful signs
This book was quite disappointing as it's missing a number of useful signs. There are 160 words in sign language illustrated with drawings of a scuba person. They are useful signs to divers but what is missing is the entire alphabet as well as a number of the fish and sea life signs. It's a great little referrence book for $5 if you also get a real basics of sign language book as well. For $11 plus shipping, this book is not worth it.

Scuba Divers Sign Language Manual
One of the keys to safe diving is the ability to communicate effectively underwater, where a misunderstood sign could mean the difference between life and death. The authors are certified instructors and interpreters for the deaf as well as a certified divers. Fully illustrated, easy to learn, easy to use and easy to understand! With these signs, the diver can 'tell' his buddy 'I'm too cold' - 'I've lost my rope' - 'I'm feeling sick' and know that the buddy will understand because they 'speak' the same language. Divers who use this book will enhance their ability to communicate underwater and will increase both their safety and their enjoyment of diving.

Scuba Divers Sign Language Manual
This is a wonderful book to throw in your gear bag and have fun with! I find it very helpful to remind my buddy before diving of the signs we will be using. Underwater communication is very important and can help in some very sticky situations. Any diver can learn these signs and they are easy to understand. I use this book all the time.

Scuba Divers Sign Language Manual
This small pocket sized book is an illustrated sign manual for scuba divers. The author is a sign language instructor and interpreter and an avid diver, and it was his intention to create a safer, more enjoyable situation for fellow divers. These signs are easy to learn, easy to use,and especially important...easy to understand! Minor situations have become critical ones simply because a scuba diver could not say, 'I'm too cold - I'm feeling sick - or, I lost the rope.'
