Second Foundation is the best sf book out there
This is the best science fiction book ever, best of Asimov's, who's the best writer. The ending is amazing . . . but I won't spoil it! You can read it without reading any of the other Foundation books, though you'll want to once you read this one.

Quite good
I would say this is the best of the Foundation novels due to the slightly mysterious nature of the book and because of the deep characters, more detailed than in the preceding two. However, Asimov leaves his enjoyable retelling of the Fall of the Roman Empire for a new story idea, detracting from the plot just a tad.

If you are a Sci-Fi fan you will enjoy this book
This is the second book in the Foundation series. It seems to say that people are people no matter whether they are on earth or some other planet. Some will be happy as they are, some will want more. Politics is politics no matter where you are.
Happily in this book good does triumph over "evil". How that happens makes for a "good" read.0 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

A classic
Loved these books years ago and so I reread them recently. (actually I listened to them on audiobook read by Scott Brick) They hold up well though the early Asimov had unbound enthusiasm for science which may seem a little naive these days. But true sf fans should find the Foundation series very enjoyable. As for individual books, I think 2 and 3 are a little better than 1, but all are very good. Scoot Brick is an excellent reader.

A masterwork
In a series that not only sets the bar in science fiction but I'd profoundly important in all of literature. The last paragraph will rock your world--if you've read what came before it.

Amazing!
This is the 3rd foundation novel I've read on my road to reading the whole series. Honestly these just keep getting better and better as they go. This story in particular has so much more intenisty then the last. I absolutely loved it. Definitely goign to pick up the next as soon as I can. :)
