    America's greatest novelist

William Faulkner wrote some of the greatest fictional works of the 20th Century. These stories are a great way to get to know him and and his work.

Excellent--For Those Who Can Stand It.

William Faulkner is an acquired taste and I haven't been able to acquire it yet. Even though I don't like his stories, I recognize his amazing power of description and way with words. I can't think of any other writer in his league as far as being able to conjure up disturbing images, and imbuing his setting with such a sense of dread and inevitable tragedy. Maybe that is why he was hired to write for the movies. You can not head these stories without visualizing every detail and feeling as if you are present in those dreadfully unfolding events.<BR/> If you are looking for "happy talk" go elsewhere. If you are looking for powerful images, and a tutorial on how to be descriptive, then stay and immerse yourself in a world you will hope never to visit.

    Amazing Short Stories

This is an amazing collection of Faulkner's short stories. I became hooked on his writing when I read A Rose for Emily in high school. His short stories are just as wonderful if not more than his novels. He was a gifted writer that really makes you think when you read.
