Now, I haven't read this book...
But I have read a good portion of Dario's works, including his three poetic masterpieces, Azul, Prosas Profanas, and Cantos de Vida y Esperanza, as well as many of his short stories, and an excellent poem entitile 'Los motivos del Lobo'. Ruben Dario captures profoundly the beauty of poetry and is extremely philoshophical at other points. He is also sometimes credited with 'beautifing' the spansih language. It wasn't the spanish of Spain that created good spanish, but this genius from Nicaragua. His ideas alone would make this book worth reading, barring any loss of poetic beauty in the translation. So, if you are too lazy to learn Spanish, then read this book. If you all ready know Spanish, read Dario's book as they were meant to be read. Was this review helpful?
