This book includes a bunch of practical tips on how to cope with anxiety and stress using modern psychological methods. (What the author calls "self-talk" is similar to emotion labeling.) My experience with psychotherapy, though, has brought little, if any, results. Sadly, there are very few alternatives out there. Speaking of alternatives, a few months ago, I bought a book Secret Techniques for Controlling Sadness, Anger, Anxiety, and Other Emotions by Vlad Koros, which is written as a step-by-step guide through an old Taoist method, and it seems very effective. I tried only some of the techniques with mixed results, but it made me understand myself on an entirely new level, and that was helpful.
