Overview

John Charles Ryle (10 May 1816 – 10 June 1900) was the first Anglican bishop of Liverpool. He was a writer, pastor and an evangelical preacher.

Included in the volume are seven of his classic sermons.

"If the Bible be true, it is certain that unless we are “sanctified,” we shall not be saved. There are three things which, according to the Bible, are absolutely necessary to the salvation of every man and woman in Christendom. These three are, justification, regeneration, and sanctification. He that lacks any one of these three things, will never find himself in heaven when he dies. Where, then, is the harm of asking, “Are we sanctified?” Where is the wisdom of disliking and rejecting the inquiry? "
