Pretty Good Book
I recently purchased this book because I love vintage and retro patterns. I am a novice at sewing, new at it, and I love the pretty, easy to sew patterns and will try to make most all of them. The book is beautiful and it will be an enjoyment to make the projects. I only have one strong caution about the book. Judi tells the history of sewing by adding bits and pieces of what was going on in each era at the time. That isn't so bad in and of itself but, some of her comments are way too political and very strongly feminist in nature and have little to do with sewing. Comments made in regard to issues that occurred in the 1960's are particularly disturbing. I had to go back and reread them several times to make sure I was actually reading what I read. I would recommend the book as good because of it's beautiful patterns but did not care at all for Judi's slightly lopsided perspective on history.

Informative and FUN
Read this on a plane coming home from a business trip. It was informative, fun, and I could not wait to make the projects!
