Definitely a good, if dense, read. Loved it.

That said, I really can't understand why the ebook costs as much as a paperback. There's no ink or paper, no shipping, nothing that would hike the price. Sure, someone has to type it out, but it shouldn't be just as expensive.

    Warriors: Rising Shadows~Prologue

A dark shape hovered in the distance. Feathers glided lightly down. A strange silence had filled the air. It was all around Falconshade, seeming to drown her.
Gone.
This was it. Her kit was gone.
Gone. Gone like pebbles in a creek. Gone.
She eyed the shape in the distance for a while before realizing what it was. The broad, muscular wings, the sharp talons, and the curved beak used as a weapon.
A hawk. And below the hawk was a smaller shape. Her only kit. But bringing down a hawk was so easy. In fact, she had been specially trained for it by her mother, Owl. She had been so absorbed in her conversation with Frost that he had not heard the hawk coming.
Words rang in her ears. Words that she had heard before. When she was first brought here as a small kit. She did not even know how she could remember them, but they seemed as clear as the blue sky.
You have come from the place of our enimies, Falconkit. Your life shall be full of sacrifice.
Shadow. He was the leader of this Clan. BloodClan. She would talk to him. Tell him that she needed to leave. She would live life better as a rogue. Slowly, she padded to his rocky den, her face seemingly frozen in a permanent scowl.
"You WHAT?" Growled Shadow. His black pelt was sillouetted against the predawn sky.
"You heard me!" Retorted Falconshade. "I am leaving!" She thrust her head back and glared at him. Perched on top of his stony cliff, he seemed powerful. But he was not. He was feared. That was the only reason he was leader. Around his neck hung a purple collar studded with dog's teeth. It was once worn by the ancient leader Scourge.
"Fine!" He snarled. "See if I care! But if you ever dare to come back..." He slid his paw across her neck. "You'll never see the light of day!"
"Hmph!" Grunted Falconshade. "You think you're so powerful! All you ever do is sit up there on that cliff and threaten cats! You mangy, flea-ridden, snake-heart! If I could, I would kill you right-" Her sentence was cut short by claws running across her neck. Her eyes closed, and she fell to the ground.
