    What a trilogy!

This bookk is one of the best books I have ever read. It excellently follows the first book in the trilogy (way of shadows). The book also sets you up for the last book. For an excellent read that has great magic and superb martial arts and tremendous plot you can not go wrong with Brent Weeks.

Just as good as the first

The momentum doesn't stop and you get the chance to really understand the characters.

    Very Well written

Intricate and sweeping with good character development and protaganists act in thinking ways, but also react from places of deep emotion, in a world that very real with depth, but which the author is very capable of depicting without creating complexity and confusion.

    original yet classic

For those who like the "fantasy" style, that series from Brent Weeks is pretty original. The style and plot are somewhat classic, but it works just fine and the stories unfold at a good rythm with good moments and characters are actually very interesting with a real personnality.

    I Also Recommend:

    Unexpected Find

Ran across the first book of the series in a public library and was immediately engaged. This second book of the series is certainly as absorbing as the first with its memorable action and intricate plot. The lead character evolves very little as compared to his development in the first book, but other flawed characters are introduced into the mix and storylines presented in the first book reach their culmination in the second giving the reader a sense of completion while allowing a glimpse into the future. My only true disappointment was the lead character's romantic interest--a supporting character without internal flaws who gave me a yawn. Their interaction was adolescent and passionless and unbelievable considering their backgrounds. Still, the plot places their romance to the side most of the time, while the real action blessedly continues. The Night Angel has come into his true talent and it is a thing of beauty for the reader to envision.
