A Page Turner

An interesting mix of fact and fiction, this paranormal plot entrances until the very last page.

    Ok read

After reading Winter Sea by Ms Kearsley I was expecting another wow moment but it did not happen in this book for me. I was disappointed in the lack of background history in regards to the missing 9th Legion and the outcome of the story was too pat with no surprises. I felt like the characters and the Ghost could have been more developed.

    I was disappointed

The book started off wonderfully. I was totally engrossed. Great beginning, good middle development and then it just ended. It was like the author thought I've got to tie up all the loose ends in a matter of 15 pages. I wanted so much to like it because of the beginning. It lost steam and died at the end. I couldn't decide whether to give it a 3 or a 2. If it had a great ending, it could have been a 5!

    Not my favorite

I have enjoyed many of her books, but this one fell flat for me. The story and characters were good, but things moved rather slow and I had a hard time keeping interest. The snail-paced plot rather mirrored the pace of true archeological digs, and while I find archeology interesting, the use of it here as almost a character in itself proved less than exciting. Her other books are far better.

    Just ok

I loved the winter sea and the rose garden; but this book was a bit of a disapointment.
