Verbosity deminishes an otherwise candid and compelling book

This book is a definite page-turner. I have to admit that once I started this book I couldn't put it down. I read the whole thing in one sitting. All that he had to say about his childhood, and his life on and off the court was all very interesting, but his book is massively repetative. This book seems like the first draft of something that needs to undergo several revisions. There are several pieces of information that he repeats over and over. In fact, at one point he even repeated the same piece of information twice on the same page. This book is a little over 250 pages in length, but he could have cut that number in half and still gotten his message across. However, Shaq is an athlete, and not an author, so it doesn't make sense to be overly critical. This is still a great book that I would highly recommend.

    Shaq and Lakers fan.

When I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down until the end. Shaq's very honest about his feeling and his words reveal it all. Great read for Shaq and Lakers fans.

SHAQ COULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE MORE ELABORATE!

I AM HONORED TO SAY THAT I READ THE BOOK ALTHOUGH, THERE WERE SOME UNFUFILLED QUESTIONS THROUGHOUT THE BOOK. SHAQ COULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE MORE RELAXED ABOUT HIS LIFE. I ALSO THINK HE SHOULD HAVE GAVE A DESCRIPTIVE STORY OF THE RELATIONSHIPS THAT HE HAS WITH HIS CHILDREN AND THEIR MOTHERS. SHAQ COME ON GIVE UP THE POT OF GOLD! THANKS FOR READING MY REVIEW AND I AM LOOKING FOR ANOTHER GREAT BOOK FROM ANOTHER ATHLETE. SIGNING OFF, SKY RITZ

    'The Real Deal'

This book is so good.It tells all about Shaq. It helps to understand him. And it shows what he's been through. And he still came out a strong man. This would be a good book for young men to read.

I thought this book was awesome. I think Shaq is a great player, person, and a role model. I totally like his style! He seems like a cool guy. I like his perspectives in the book; it made me look at his life in a totally different way! Basketball is the best. Go Lakers!!!

    Great Book

Shaq is a good author, but an even better player, the book gives good insight to his career in and out of basketball.

    It's Great!

Shaq's book is very interesting. It told me things that I wanted to know[NBA dirt and such]. It was way better than i thought it would be because even if you're not a hardcore basketball fan you'll still like it because it goes beyond the court and into his personal life. So if you don't have it I suggest you go out and get it.
